Step by Step Covering Guide
To Cover your book you will require:
The Material you wish to cover (fabric, Wallpaper, Wrapping paper etc)
Hot Glue Gun
Scissors
A flat, sturdy surface (covered in case you get any glue on the surface)
Step 1
Start by laying your material flat on your surface (face down) and position your book so you have approximately 2inch (5cm) overlap on all 4 sides, cutting off any excess.
Step 2
Run a line of Hot glue along the edge of the cover and fold over. (line on the image indicates the glue line when folded)
Turnover book and repeat to the other side .
Step 3
Cut the flap along the red line to create a flap. Fold the flap back on itself, then add hot glue onto the underside.
Step 4
Before the glue drys, fold the flap back over and tuck under so it secures to the cover.
(Repeat for all 4 Flaps)

Step 5
Make 2 cuts either side of the spine

Step 6
Fold the Overlap to a point and add a dot of glue to secure
(indicated by the yellow dot)
Repeat for all 4 Flaps

Step 7
Run a line of glue along the edge of the angled fold and all the way back to the spine.

Step 9
Fold the tab over and secure it to the cover.
(Repeat for all 4 tabs)

Step 10
Shape the last remaining tabs for the spine and then tuck them into the Gap
(No Glue is required)

Its personal preference but i also always add a ribbon to every fold i cover.
I save the blank page at the beginning and end of the box but you could also substitute for a piece of card stock.
Step 1
Put a large amount of glue on the bottom edge of the cover (approximately 0.5cm from the edge. Then press and hold the end of the ribbon in place.

Step 2
Run glue around the edge of you blank page (or card stock) then add a zigzag thru the center.
Press firmly to the inside cover, This will Not only cover the end of the ribbon so its not visible but will also hide all the flaps from the cover.

Step 3
A little more tricky for the opposite end as you have to hold the pages up out the way but still get the ribbon to hold the book closed.
If using the Blank page glue the ribbon to the blank page

Step 2
You can then Make a line of glue around the edge of the blank page and zigzag thru the center before pressing the blank page firmly to the cover.

Your book is now fully covered, and ready to be given to its Forever Home.
